1. General
We agree to provide our services to you subject to our Terms and Conditions. You acknowledge and accept
that by using our services you agree to be bound by our Terms and Conditions. All information endeavours to be accurate, but from time-to-time discrepancies may exist.
2. The Training
Every dog is different, and all information given to you should be used for your consideration only.
Our training methods are based upon proven methods, researched theories and scientific models and/or have
been used successfully by our trainers or used and referred by other trainers and associated trainers in confidence. This does not guarantee that it will be successful with other dog/s. Essentially every dog is different, and this is the basis of where our methods and training stem from, hence forth, not all tips and methods suggested will be successful with all dogs.
3. Intellectual Property
All information provided by Sit Stay Play QLD, including training methods, materials, and advice, is the intellectual property of Sit Stay Play QLD. Unauthorized copying, duplication, re-editing, reassembly, printing, or use of this content in any manner is strictly prohibited. Violations may result in legal action to protect our intellectual property rights. If you wish to use any information provided, please contact Sit Stay Play QLD for written permission. Any approved use must be accompanied by explicit written consent from Sit Stay Play QLD.
4. Payment Methods
We accept payments via cash or bank transfer only, as indicated on the invoice. Currently, we do not support EFTPOS or credit card transactions. All payments must be made according to the invoice details. We are committed to ensuring secure bank transfers. Please stay informed about potential updates to our payment methods for enhanced convenience in the future.
5. Fees
Standard private training fees are discussed with you through email or messages. Packages can be arranged, and regular deals will be advertised. Expiry dates may apply. Training sessions usually have a duration of 1 hour and can be theory heavy depending on your prior knowledge of dog training and its entities. Rates may change if you have purchased a promotional rate.
We offer a “Walk & Train” (we do the training for you) at a rate of $80/45mins-1hour. This service requires a different terms and conditions, please enquire about this service if you are interested.
6. Cancellation Policy
We require 48 hours’ notice for any cancellation of our services. Cancellations made within this period will be refunded at 85% of the payment, with the remaining 15% retained for administrative fees. Failure to provide the required notice will result in forfeiture of all payments. For package deals, a cancellation will result in a refund minus the value of one week’s training. If postponement is necessary from our end, we will reschedule at the earliest availability. If postponed by the client, a new session must be scheduled within one week, or the session will be forfeited. No refunds will be provided for cancellations due to the dog being in season, temporarily unwell, or other reasons. Instead, the fee will roll over to the next available session.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur; however, multiple postponements can disrupt our scheduling and the training progress. Therefore, if a client requests more than two postponements within a training package or service period, the following penalties will apply:
- For the third postponement, a rescheduling fee of $20 will be charged.
- For any subsequent postponements, the client will be required to pay an additional $20 per postponed session.
These fees are designed to compensate for the administrative burden and scheduling disruptions caused by repeated changes. All postponement requests must be communicated at least 48 hours in advance. Failure to provide sufficient notice will result in the session being forfeited without a refund.
By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge and accept these conditions regarding postponements and penalties.
7. Health and Safety
7.1 All dogs must have current vaccinations, flea, tick, worm, and heartworm treatments. Dogs must be in sound health to participate in our sessions. If there are concerns about your dog’s health, we reserve the right to request a health assessment before continuing with our services. Compliance with these requirements ensures the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care. Should your pet have special dietary requirements please be sure to advise us and remind us at the sessions.
Additionally, it is important that all human participants (owners, handlers, and other attendees) are in sound health and free from contagious illnesses. This requirement helps to prevent the spread of disease and ensures the safety and well-being of both our staff and other clients. If you or any participants are unwell, please inform us immediately to reschedule the session. Compliance with these health requirements is mandatory to participate in our training sessions.
7.2 Compliance with Local Regulations: All clients are required to ensure that they and their pets comply with all relevant local regulations regarding animal health and safety. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining up-to-date vaccinations, flea, tick, worm, and heartworm treatments, and adhering to any specific health guidelines set forth by local authorities.
It is the client’s responsibility to be informed about and comply with these regulations to help prevent the spread of diseases and ensure the well-being of all animals and humans involved in our services. Failure to comply with local regulations may result in the suspension or termination of services until compliance is achieved.
7.3 Clients must also inform us if their dog is classified as a dangerous dog by the local council or any other regulatory body. This information is crucial for the safety of our staff and other clients, and appropriate measures will be taken to accommodate and handle such cases responsibly. Know that we do offer training for deemed dangerous dogs we just need to be advised for safety and training adjustments.
By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to adhere to all applicable local animal health and safety regulations. Non-compliance may lead to the cancellation of sessions without refund, and any costs associated with ensuring compliance will be the responsibility of the client.
8. Liability Release
By using our services, you agree to release Sit Stay Play QLD and our employees from all liability for any injury, death, loss, or damage that may occur to your dog or their/your belongings while in our care, during transportation, or under our direct supervision. This release of liability is comprehensive and applies to all potential incidents.
9. Privacy Policy
Communication with Sit Stay Play QLD (via email, internet, text, messages, and forms on the website) is collected for business reference. Information deemed as testimonials or useful for promotional purposes may be used by Sit Stay Play QLD. At no time will a client's or sender’s full name, contact details, or address be published without consent. All collected information is used solely for business purposes and will not be sold or given to third parties without written consent. Clients have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of their personal information. Updates to the privacy policy will be communicated to clients, and consent will be obtained for any significant changes.
10. Consent to Use Digital Media and Images
Unless explicitly refused in writing, photos and videos of your pet may be used on our social media sites for positive and educational purposes. Images from classes, private lessons, and events may be shared on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Google Plus, with client consent obtained beforehand. Clients can tag themselves in images, but digital media of Sit Stay Play QLD staff taken by clients must be approved before posting. Any negative portrayal of training or other services must be removed immediately upon request.
11. Damage
In the event your dog damages furniture, personal items, or property, you agree to cover the costs for professional cleaning, repair, or replacement of the damaged items. Clear communication and assessment will be conducted to determine the extent of the damage and the associated costs.
12. Amendments to Terms
Sit Stay Play QLD reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Clients will be informed of any significant changes and will be required to acknowledge the updated terms to continue using our services. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Complaint Procedure
If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact us. All complaints will be reviewed by Dejana Durdevic, and further information may be sought to clarify your concerns. If we agree that your complaint is valid, we will work with you to resolve the issue. If you remain dissatisfied, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
14. Website Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected by Sit Stay Play QLD via the website located at https://www.sitstayplayqld.com
14.1. What is "personal information"?
The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) currently defines "personal information" as meaning information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:
- whether the information or opinion is true or not; and
- whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.
If the information does not disclose your identity or enable your identity to be ascertained, it will in most cases not be classified as "personal information" and will not be subject to this privacy policy.
14.2 What information do we collect?
The kind of personal information that we collect from you will depend on how you use the website. The personal information which we collect and hold about you may include: Contact information (name, address, email, phone number) and pet related information.
14.3 How we collect your personal information
- We may collect personal information from you whenever you input such information into the website.
- We also collect cookies from your computer which enable us to tell when you use the website and also to help customise your website experience. As a general rule, however, it is not possible to identify you personally from our use of cookies.
14.4 Purpose of collection
- The purpose for which we collect personal information is to provide you with the best service experience possible on the website.
- We customarily disclose personal information only to our service providers who assist us in operating the website. Your personal information may also be exposed from time to time to maintenance and support personnel acting in the normal course of their duties.

Australian Privacy Principle 12 permits you to obtain access to the personal information we hold about you in certain circumstances, and Australian Privacy Principle 13 allows you to correct inaccurate personal information subject to certain exceptions. 14.6 Complaint procedure
If you have a complaint concerning the manner in which we maintain the privacy of your personal information, please contact us as set out below. All complaints will be considered by Dejana Durdevic and we may seek further information from you to clarify your concerns. If we agree that your complaint is well founded, we will, in consultation with you, take appropriate steps to rectify the problem. If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
14.7 Overseas transfer
Your personal information will not be disclosed to recipients outside Australia unless you expressly request us to do so. If you request us to transfer your personal information to an overseas recipient, the overseas recipient will not be required to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles and we will not be liable for any mishandling of your information in such circumstances.
