Dog Walking and Pet Care Services

Please note that these Terms and Conditions are for dog walking, dog outings and pet sitting services combined.

​

1. General

1.1 Acceptance of Terms: Use of the services of Sit Stay Play QLD will be deemed acceptance of the following terms and conditions, whether verbally or in writing. Any exceptions will be noted.

 

1.2 Confidentiality: Sit Stay Play QLD will treat your personal information confidentially and will not pass on your details to any third parties.

 

1.3 Information Accuracy: Information given at the time of the original consultation will be used for all subsequent bookings unless notified that there has been any change in condition or requirements. A new PETS CARD information form on our website must be filled out at a point of any changes to your or your pet’s situation.

 

1.4 Safety: You are responsible for ensuring that Sit Stay Play QLD staff are not placed in any unavoidable risk when entering, leaving, and whilst staying on your property.

 

1.5 Accompanied Visits: During house visits, for legitimate reasons, another Sit Stay Play QLD staff member may accompany the original staff member for the allocated service. Any objections to this condition, please notify staff at the time of consultation.

 

1.6 Promotional Use: Any photos taken of your pets during the service may be used for promotional purposes unless explicitly refused in writing by the client.

 

2. Fees

2.1 Quotes and Charges: Sit Stay Play QLD fee quotes prior to consultation are only estimations, with set charges being discussed with you via email with Dejana Durdevic. Confirmation of your booking is an agreement to pay the charges outlined at the time of consultation.

 

2.2 Deposit and Balance: A 10% non-refundable deposit of the total fee is required at the time of booking. The total remaining balance of your account with Sit Stay Play QLD is required by the last day of service or the noted time on the invoice.

 

2.3 Payment Terms: Where payment is not received in accordance with these terms and conditions, Sit Stay Play QLD reserves the right to void any previously agreed arrangements or add additional fees to your invoice due to the time taken to communicate reminders for payment.

 

3. Cancellations or Early Returns

3.1 Notification Requirements: Sit Stay Play QLD must be notified of any booking cancellations or changes at least 72-hours prior to the arranged sitting date, whilst dog walking requires a 36-hour cancellation notice.

 

3.2 Forfeiture and Credits: Pet sitting cancellations by the client will forfeit the deposit, and any leftover money will be held as credit to use on any other service within 6 months from the date of cancellation. With dog walking, an admin fee of $20 will be added to your invoice due to failing to cancel with 36 hours' notice.

 

3.3 Substitute Staff: In the unlikely event that Sit Stay Play QLD cannot honour your booking, a substitute staff member will be allocated with your approval or your money will be refunded.

 

3.4 Early Returns: Should you return early during a booking, notification to Sit Stay Play QLD staff is required. Full invoice payment will be needed due to saving the allocated time slots for you.

 

4. Your Property

4.1 Property Condition: Sit Stay Play QLD staff will leave your property in its original state from the day of booking. You are respectfully asked to note that Sit Stay Play QLD staff will not be subject to any additional cleaning duties. Sit Stay Play QLD staff have every right to photograph your property as evidence of property being left damaged or dirty upon their arrival, which absolves them from extra cleaning/fixing duties.

 

4.2 Standards of Cleanliness: If Sit Stay Play QLD does not consider that your property is of a reasonable standard of cleanliness, or that the facilities available to them are inadequate, the booking may be declined.

 

4.3 Key Collection and Drop-off: Key collection and drop-off options will be discussed during the consultation. We highly recommend lockboxes to be used for key handover with the code being changed often and the lockbox out of public view.

 

4.4 Emergency Situations: In the event of a problem or emergency arising, Sit Stay Play QLD staff will attempt to contact you and your emergency contact immediately. Secondary emergency contacts MUST be provided and not left blank. If no answer from you or the emergency contact, then we have the right to go to the nearest vet in which all fees will be covered by you.

 

4.5 Surveillance Devices: Any surveillance cameras, recording devices, tracking devices, microphones, sensors, alarms, or photography devices at your property during the time of pet sitting/visits/walks are to be advised to the staff member. If the staff member is uncomfortable, we may ask you to turn the device/s off.

 

5. Our Property (if applicable)

5.1 Damage to Property: If your pet/s is being housed within a Sit Stay Play QLD staff member’s property, any property damaged by your pet/s during their stay may incur charges to cover the cost of ruined property. Please note, you must inform staff at consultation of any behavioural issues such as chewing, aggression, escape, and lack of house toilet training.

 

5.2 Escape Incidents: If your pet escapes, we will endeavour to do everything to retrieve them. Any fees incurred to retrieve the pet will be reimbursed to Sit Stay Play QLD by the owner of the pet.

 

6. Your Pet

6.1 Full Disclosure: It is of the utmost importance that you give full information in relation to the needs and requirements of your pet/s. Sit Stay Play QLD staff will not be held responsible if full instructions are not provided prior to the service commencing.

 

6.2 Vaccinations: All cats and dogs are preferred to have current vaccinations. Owners must provide written proof (provided by all vets) that their cats have at least current F3 vaccinations and dogs have current C5 vaccinations. If the animal/s have not received up-to-date vaccinations, any health issues that may arise during the care of Sit Stay Play QLD staff, Sit Stay Play QLD is not liable

 

6.3 Health Status: You must ensure that your pet is in good health. If Sit Stay Play QLD believes your pet is not in good health, we reserve the right to seek veterinary advice on your behalf and you will be liable for the veterinary fees.

 

6.4 Behavioural Issues: We cannot accept bookings for badly behaved or aggressive animals. Sit Stay Play QLD may terminate a booking if it is reasonably thought that a pet is badly behaved or aggressive either towards humans, animals, or property. This can be discussed at the time of booking as some staff specialise in aggressive animal cases.

 

6.5 Supplies: Owners must ensure that adequate food is available to cover the pet sitting/dog walking period. This agreement authorises Sit Stay Play QLD to purchase additional pet food, litter, or other supplies without prior notice in the event that supplies are exhausted during the pet sitting period and charge an additional shopping fee.

 

6.6 Walking Off-Leash: Please be aware that walking your dog off is not a service we provide as it runs the risk of your dog escaping from care. If by any chance an animal manages to escape our grip, Sit Stay Play QLD staff will act immediately and appropriately, but are not liable if such an event's outcomes.

 

6.7 Identification Tags and Microchips: During sitting, walks, outings, and/or at ‘Our Property’ stays, all dogs and cats require an identification tag or microchip in the possible event of the pet escaping from care. Sit Stay Play QLD accepts no liability if the animal escapes due to the ability to dig, jump, or scale fences or the home. You MUST inform staff if your pet has shown ANY of those characteristics. We will, however, follow appropriate procedures and steps in order to find any lost pets.

 

6.8 Fish Care: Fish feeding services use your own supplies provided to us. If your tank or fish require specific feeding times/care, notifying Sit Stay Play QLD staff prior is essential and further fees may apply. We take no liability for death or damage incurred to your tank, accessories or equipment.

 

6.9 Bird Care: Bird feeding service is for small ‘domestic’ type birds such as a budgerigar, cockatiel, or canary with basic seed food requirements. Multiple cages, aviaries, or more complicated feeding or care may necessitate a fee or revised fee. We can discuss this at the initial consultation. We take no liability for death or damage incurred to your tank, accessories or equipment.

 

6.10 Emergency Situations: In the event of an emergency, Sit Stay Play QLD will use reasonable judgment in caring for your pet/s and home. If it becomes necessary, your animal will be taken to a veterinary surgeon. You are responsible for any such fees incurred during your absence or during the course of an assignment. Should medical attention be necessary and your specified veterinarian is unavailable, Sit Stay Play QLD will seek emergency veterinary care. Every attempt will be made to notify you regarding the situation. However, if you are not reachable, Sit Stay Play QLD will approve medical and/or emergency treatment as recommended by a veterinarian. You will be required to reimburse Sit Stay Play QLD for any expenses incurred and release Sit Stay Play QLD from all liabilities related to transportation, treatment, and any other expenses associated with such care. These expenses MUST be reimbursed to Sit Stay Play QLD within 14 days of treatment.

 

7. Compliance with Local Regulations

7.1 Regulatory Compliance: All clients are required to ensure that they and their pets comply with all relevant local regulations regarding animal health and safety. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining up-to-date vaccinations, flea, tick, worm, and heartworm treatments, and adhering to any specific health guidelines set forth by local authorities.

 

7.2 Clients must also inform us if their dog is classified as a dangerous dog by the local council or any other regulatory body. This information is crucial for the safety of our staff and other clients, and appropriate measures will be taken to accommodate and handle such cases responsibly. It is the client’s responsibility to be informed about and comply with these regulations to help prevent the spread of diseases and ensure the well-being of all animals and humans involved in our services. Failure to comply with local regulations may result in the suspension or termination of services until compliance is achieved. By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to adhere to all applicable local animal health and safety regulations. Non-compliance may lead to the cancellation of sessions without refund, and any costs associated with ensuring compliance will be the responsibility of the client.

 

8. Insurance and Liability

8.1 It is your responsibility to ensure that your property, its contents, and pets are adequately insured throughout the

duration of SIT STAY PLAY QLD assignment.

 

8.2 SIT STAY PLAY QLD and its employees accept no liability for the loss or injury to your pet/s during the service.

 

8.3 SIT STAY PLAY QLD and its employees accept no liability for damage caused by your pet/s during an assignment. You, the client, will indemnify SIT STAY PLAY QLD and its employees against any claims for loss, injury, or damage to the SIT STAY PLAY QLD staff, members of the public, other pet/s, or private or public property which are caused by your pet, or as a result of breach of these terms and conditions, negligence or otherwise.

 

9. Website Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected by Sit Stay Play QLD QLD via the

website located at https://www.sitstayplayqld.com

 

9.1 What is "personal information"?

- The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) currently defines "personal information" as meaning information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:

- whether the information or opinion is true or not; and

- whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.

- If the information does not disclose your identity or enable your identity to be ascertained, it will in most cases not be classified as "personal information" and will not be subject to this privacy policy.

 

9.2 What information do we collect?

The kind of personal information that we collect from you will depend on how you use the website. The personal information which we collect and hold about you may include: Contact information (name, address, email, phone number) and pet related information.

 

9.3 How we collect your personal information

- We may collect personal information from you whenever you input such information into the website.

- We also collect cookies from your computer which enable us to tell when you use the website and also to help customise your website experience. As a general rule, however, it is not possible to identify you personally from our use of cookies.

 

9.4 Purpose of collection

- The purpose for which we collect personal information is to provide you with the best service experience possible on the website.

- We customarily disclose personal information only to our service providers who assist us in operating the website. Your personal information may also be exposed from time to time to maintenance and support personnel acting in the normal course of their duties.

Australian Privacy Principle 12 permits you to obtain access to the personal information we hold about you in certain circumstances, and Australian Privacy Principle 13 allows you to correct inaccurate personal information subject to certain exceptions. 9.6 Complaint procedure

If you have a complaint concerning the manner in which we maintain the privacy of your personal information, please contact us as set out below. All complaints will be considered by Dejana Durdevic and we may seek further information from you to clarify your concerns. If we agree that your complaint is well founded, we will, in consultation with you, take appropriate steps to rectify the problem. If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

 

9.7 Overseas transfer

Your personal information will not be disclosed to recipients outside Australia unless you expressly request us to do so. If you request us to transfer your personal information to an overseas recipient, the overseas recipient will not be required to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles and we will not be liable for any mishandling of your information in such circumstances.
